Naturally, I had to attempt this! So here's my step-by-step :)
You'll need:
An old sweater
Cigar Box
Scissors
Fabric Glue
Step 1: Cut the sweater along the seams to get two halves. You'll be using most, if not all of the sweater.
Step 2: Measure the length of your cigar box and cut a strip of the sweater to that length. Mine worked so that I could get two strips out of each side of the sweater for a total of four pieces.
Step 3: Apply fabric glue to one end of the fabric strip and fold over. My folds were abuot 3/4" wide.
Step 4: Continue to fold the sweater like an accordion, applying glue to the underneath side of the folds.
Step 5: Continue this process until you have enough to tightly fit into the entire box.
I'm still struggling with deciding whether or not to leave the box as-is, or decorate it. Thoughts?
I vote decorate. Remember, more is more.
